ABOUT THE CELEBRATION ENSEMBLE
The Celebration Ensemble is a group of musicians from the Ithaca-Binghamton regions of New York State who together perform tribute shows to celebrate their favorite artists.
Says Michael Wu, "It's great to partner once again with the Tioga Arts Council to perform another tribute show and fundraiser.
"The spirit of The Celebration Ensemble is community-oriented. We're all from this rich community in the Southern Tier and Finger Lakes regions, and we love getting to highlight the artistic talent around us while paying tribute to the music that shaped us.
"We really enjoy the process of getting a set as tight and true to the original as we can. We want people to hear these songs the way they remember them, and enjoy playing them just as much as the audience enjoys hearing them.
"Everyone in the group performs on most of the songs, but it's important to me that each member gets a spotlight moment somewhere in the show.
"We always keep the artist under wraps until about six weeks out. Half the fun is watching people try to guess. Mark the date, we'll see you there."
